Attendance
We routinely send out Pupil Postcards to celebrate when its going well and we reward the class each week with the highest attendance. They can vote for a celebration of their choice including a pyjama day!
Taking Holidays During School Time
Your child has a right to a full education at Gulval School and research strongly indicates that absence from school has a detrimental effect on a pupil’s academic attainment.
There are 175 days (weekends and school holidays) available to use for appointments and holidays. There are 190 statutory school days in one year which your child needs to attend. The school will not authorise any holidays during term time.
To make satisfactory progress and establish good relationships with others, children must attend school regularly.
If a pupil does not arrive at school and we have not been informed as to why, we will contact parents that same day. Pupils achieving 100% attendance each term will receive a certificate.
