Personal Development
At Gulval School, we believe that a rich and well-rounded Personal Development curriculum is the foundation for nurturing confident, compassionate and resilient young people. Our carefully planned approach goes beyond the academic, supporting pupils to develop the character, values and skills they need to flourish in life. Rooted in our vibrant village community, our PD curriculum reflects the needs and aspirations of our children, helping them grow as responsible citizens, active learners and kind-hearted individuals. We invite you to explore how we bring this vision to life through the document below.
We create bespoke responsibilities; opportunities for pupils that help them to feel valued, instil a deep sense of commitment and belonging and ensure that they feel connected to their community. This is deliberate. This belief is supported by research on the positive impact adventure learning and leadership programmes have on a young person’s self-esteem, self-confidence and resilience. We are so proud to be recognised internationally and to have supported world leading research, led by Professor Michael Ungar, Ph.D; ‘What Works’ A Manual for Designing Programmes that Build Resilience’.

These job descriptions are for pupils who are encouraged to apply for these roles; we need everyone to help!
