Life is better with a book!

Gulval School was full of excitement as we celebrated World Book Day! Children and staff arrived dressed as their favourite storybook characters, bringing colour, creativity, and lots of smiles to our classrooms. Pupils took part in shared reading sessions throughout the day, enjoying stories together and discovering new authors and genres.

In class, children completed a range of reading‑themed activities, including book challenges, character hunts, reading cafes and discussions about what makes a great story. One of the many highlights was creating our very own comic books—pupils loved designing characters, planning storylines, and turning their ideas into illustrated panels.

We also joined inspiring author Zoom sessions, where pupils asked brilliant questions and learned about how writers bring their stories to life.

It was a wonderful day celebrating imagination, storytelling, and the joy of reading at Gulval School!
