Year 6 Sapphire Class have been diving into the dramatic world of World War Two in History. We explored the timeline of key events, uncovered the causes behind the conflict and examined its far-reaching effects on different groups of people – from evacuees and soldiers to those on the home front.

We also zoomed in on Cornwall’s unique role in the war, discovering how our county helped with coastal defence, training troops and sheltering evacuees. It’s been a powerful, eye-opening topic that’s brought history to life and helped us understand the lasting impact of the war.
